Cleaning up wastewater in Florida
in Latest News18 Jan 2017
Florida, USA. As stricter wastewater discharge standards impact companies across the US, Environmental Equipment Services (EES) today announced it has entered into a Distributor agreement with BioGill, a leading manufacturer of above ground bioreactors used to clean water. Known as the BioGill Tower, this advanced biotechnology is treating food & beverage wastewaters and sewage, at sites across the world.
Commenting on the agreement, EES President Cory N. Peavy, said, “What impressed us is how effective the technology is in reducing BOD loads in industrial wastewater streams, delivering significant savings in discharges fees and monthly rates for our clients. Operationally as well, the technology is low cost, modular and easily retrofitted to existing plants to increase capacity.”
Based out of Lakeland, Florida, the team at EES has more than a decade of experience, with a large portfolio of successful projects in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, stormwater management and water purification.
“We take pride in offering the best possible solutions to help minimise the impact on local environments. With this technology food, wine and beer producers can better treat their wastewater onsite and improve water quality, prior to sewer or environmental discharge.”
“For overloaded municipal sewage plants, BioGill Towers offer an easy and cost effective way to boost capacity and increase plant performance, with only minor site modifications,” added Cory.
BioGill bioreactors are now operating across five continents, treating a variety of wastewaters from sewage plant upgrades through to large scale industrial water treatment for multinational food and beverage companies.
At the heart of the technology are nano ceramic media known as “gills” which provide the ideal oxygen rich habitat for microorganisms, Nature’s best recyclers, to grow and flourish. This increases nutrient removal from wastewater, resulting in high level reductions of BOD, COD, ammonia, total nitrogen and organics.
The technology has also received numerous awards and accreditations from both government authorities and the private sector.
