Board of Directors

Non-Executive Director

Andreas Sohmen-Pao

Andreas is Chairman of BW Group, a global maritime group involved in oil and gas production and shipping. He is also Chairman of two publicly listed affiliates in Norway, BW LPG and BW Offshore.Mr Sohmen-Pao was previously Chief Executive Officer of BW Group. Under his leadership, the group grew substantially over the past fifteen years, successfully completing multiple acquisitions.

Today, the BW Group spans numerous business segments including crude oil, refined products, LNG, LPG, dry bulk and chemicals transportation, deepwater oil and gas production, and floating LNG storage.Mr Sohmen-Pao is currently non-executive Chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation and a non-executive director of Sport Singapore, Singapore National Parks Board and Singapore Symphonia Company. He has also served as non-executive director of The Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation, The London P&I Club, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and The Esplanade Co Ltd amongst others.

Mr Sohmen-Pao was educated at Oxford University in England, from which he graduated in 1993 with an honours degree in Oriental Studies. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Paul Hatten

Paul is a technology driven, senior executive with a track record of accomplishment in strategic international business management roles within the water and wastewater sectors. With more than 25 years’ experience driving corporate strategy, vision, product validation, channels to market, operations implementation, and execution management, Paul has held senior executive roles within various high value Australian and US companies.

Specialist areas for Paul include Agile and Change Management, Open Book and Lead Management, Capacity Restraint Process Development and Cross Functional Team Development and product market fit ensuring financial viability. Paul holds an Associate of Engineering Applied Science Construction Hydraulics from Technical and Further Education Queensland and is currently completing a Masters of Business Administration at La Trobe University.

North America Advisory Board

Peter Gross

Peter has spent more than 30 years in the water and wastewater industry, successfully launching new technologies globally. In 1987, Peter founded Aeromix, building the company as a leader in wastewater aeration and decentralized wastewater treatment plants and later sold to a private equity group. Peter was appointed CEO at RWL Water USA (2010-2016), a company with operations, sales offices and thousands of installations around the world.

Two years ago, he founded Surge H20, a consultancy firm assisting executive teams with go-to-market plans, as well as international financing, sales and marketing strategies. Peter also supports Emerson Collective, a family office in California leading their water strategy while serving on multiple boards of companies in the water and energy space. He is the inventor on record on 10 patents relating to water and wastewater technology, holds an MBA Marketing from the University of Minnesota, and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering.

Dr Steve Gluck

Steve is an independent consultant in the water and wastewater sectors. His expertise includes technology assessment and implementation, analytical chemistry, process problem solving, communications and leadership. He was employed for more than thirty years working in various R&D roles within The Dow Chemical Company until 2015 and finished his career there as one of 2 Fellows in Dow Water & Process Solutions.

He is a specialist in wastewater treatment technologies and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Whitworth University, a Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Leipzig.

Chris Morrison

Chris is an independent consultant working in the global water sector across three focus areas, namely leadership, engagement and financing & acquisitions. Career highlights for Chris include Division Vice President/Global Accounts at Nalco Water where he was responsible for global sales, marketing and P&L.

Chris was also a Vice President at Technology Partnerships based in San Francisco, responsible for joint development programs using outside innovations and novel technologies. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chris specializes in several sectors including wastewater, gills and pre-treatment, mining and the paper-making sector.

Hank Habicht

Over the past three decades, Hank has held several leadership roles in the water and energy sectors for both public and private organizations. He has also held a number of leadership positions including Senior Vice President at Safety-Kleen, Inc., Co-founder of Capital E, a consulting firm focused on innovative technologies, and CEO of the Global Environment Technology Foundation (GETF), a non-profit firm leading major water initiatives across the world.

Hank has a depth of investment experience as well, including serving with William Ruckelshaus as the general partner of the Environmental Venture Fund and as a managing partner of SAIL Capital Partners since 2006. Hank graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University with high honors and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

John Mercer

Most of John’s professional career has been in brewery and wastewater management. With 20 years of experience in brewery wastewater treatment, today John offers consultancy services helping small brewers create affordable solutions to their wastewater problems.

Much of John’s expertise come from his first-hand experience at Deschutes Brewery, where he was wastewater plant manager for more than a decade.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology, from Eastern Illinois University.

BioGill® Americas

Vice President, BioGill® North America

Sheldon Sapoznik

Role: Drive sales and engagement strategies in North America including channel and distributor management and support, customer engagement and acquisition, as well as marketing strategies. Identify and validate project and market opportunities for BioGill® products in the North American market.

Profile: Sheldon Sapoznik is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a BS degree in Environmental and Occupational Health Science and is a California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).

He has over 25 years of high strength food and beverage wastewater experience, including 20 years regulating winery wastewater in Napa County; 7 years as owner of a sales rep firm selling small scale MBR systems for high strength applications, and now as Vice President of BioGill North America where he will focus on providing cost effective, quality solutions for the specific needs of your facility.

Dr Steve Gluck

Role: Provide technical expertise to BioGill® channel partners in North America as well as managing opportunities for the technology in the Food & Beverage sector including breweries & candy producers.

Profile: 30+ years working at The Dow Chemical Company, progressing to a Fellow in Dow Water & Process Solutions R&D, responsible for applications development and technology scouting in water and wastewater markets. Past president of the Instrumentation Testing Association and for last 15 years holding leadership roles in the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Author or co-author of over 300 internal research reports, over 30 external publications and 6 patents. High level experience in technology assessment with demonstrated strengths in the areas of wastewater treatment, analytical chemistry, process problem solving, communications and leadership.

A specialist in biological treatment technologies, advanced oxidation, fine particle filtration, forward osmosis and next generation wastewater treatment solutions that deliver low footprint and low energy treatment. BS Degree in Chemistry from Whitworth University, an MS degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Leipzig.

Mark Smith

Supply Chain Manager

Steven Lai

Role: Leads all facets of supply chain operations, inclusive of all sourcing requirements for BioGill®’s product portfolio, and manage internal production team to deliver order fulfilments.

Profile: Supply Chain Manager with more than 19 years of international management experience with high technology industry leading companies in USA and Australia. Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from The University of New South Wales.

Engineering Account Manager

Kevin Phan

Role: Providing applications engineering support to the key accounts across the APAC region. Responsibilities include technological and commercial benchmarking, account management, technical and field support, design proposals and CRM software management.

Profile: Completing an Honours Thesis in modelling the performance of the BioGill® Towers, Kevin then moved onto work within the RnD projects with regards to process performance and the analysis of various operating sites. As part of this role, Kevin provided ongoing technical support to end-users and distributors, developed sales tools and created data collection protocols that were then used to create a Product Performance Database. Kevin is currently completing his Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Honours) and Commerce (Finance) at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.

BioGill® China

Regional Manager, BioGill® China

Robbiem Huang 黄爱军

Role: To develop and implement go-to-market strategies for the BioGill® range of products, for the Chinese wastewater marketplace. Identify and validate market opportunities in China for both existing and potential Distributors and end-customers.

Profile: 15+ years of sales and marketing experience in the water and wastewater sector across multinational companies. Bachelor Degree in environmental engineering, Shanghai University.
